Your Treatment Session

Your initial appointment will last up to one hour and is predominantly an information gathering session to give me a full understanding of your problem – how it occurred, when it occurred, what aggravates your symptoms, and what eases them etc.

Following this I will need to view the area which is the problem and will ask you to suitably undress to enable the area to be seen. Shorts may need to be brought if appropriate. Your dignity is paramount throughout.

A series of movements and tests will be undertaken to allow me to come to a conclusion and diagnosis.

A full explanation of my findings will be given, and the proposed treatment plan will be outlined. It is quite common for pain in one area to be due to a problem or dysfunction in another area. So other areas may also be assessed at the time.

Treatment will be given towards the end of the initial session. This treatment will be built upon in subsequent follow up sessions.

Any questions from yourself are welcomed through the initial appointment or any of the follow up appointments.

Subsequent treatment sessions are normally half an hour in duration but longer treatment sessions are available where necessary.

On discharge from physiotherapy, correspondence can be made with your GP to maintain your accurate medical records
