About me

About me

Wanstead Physiotherapy Clinic, was established by myself, Carole Durcan in 1998. I am an experienced highly qualified state registered physiotherapist specialising in treating muscular skeletal problems. I am the sole practioner, which means you will always be treated by me.

"I have always believed in listening to my patients and adopting a holistic approach to treatment. My priority is to tailor treatment and exercises to meet individual needs."

I qualified from Middlesex Hospital in 1987 and from there worked at Whipps Cross Hospital and Enfield Community Care Trust where I was appointed Superintendent of the Outpatient Department. In this role I tendered and won successful bids to establish a number of recent injury clinics within GP practices in the borough. I was involved in the training of students, qualified staff and occasionally also GP’s.

I specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and have a special interest in treating back and neck problems and sports injuries. A growing interest is assessing and treating people with hypermobility which I often think is misdiagnosed.

I have always kept myself up to date with current physiotherapy practice and regularly attend relevant courses. I meet regularly with a group of local practitioners to exchange ideas. As well as being invited to attend monthly meetings held by Doctors from the London Bridge Hospital.
